Over Exaggerators!!

Yellow Journalism is a story that causes for people to be more interested to the topic by using illegitimate facts and over exaggerating the situation. Many news headlines use yellow journalism in their titles to promote it. They hope that it would grab peoples attention so they will pick it up to read. A current news headline titled "Blizzard Hammering Midwest Now Raging Toward East." When you first read the title, you might think of some huge devastating blizzard that is just taking over the country. When really,  it is a big blizzard but its not some huge destructive one like the headline makes it seem. The most that this blizzard has done is leave 2 feet of snow, stall out cars and it collapsed the Metrodomes Teflon roof.

Violence & Video Games.

I do not believe that violence in video games makes you a violent person. I play Call of Duty from time to time and ill admit i do get angry and really mad. But when I'm done with it I'm not a mean person. But then again i could just be part of the statistics that don't get affected in everyday life from these games. I do know a couple of friends that have become more mean and hostile after playing these games all day. They get mad really easy, and seem to get mad at little things that normally don't bother people. So i guess I'm caught in the middle with this argument. I'm pretty sure that the majority of people would say that violent video games do have an effect on the the kids who play them, because of how more and more violent these games are becoming. And how lately kids have been so disrespectful, get little attitudes, and try to act like they are big and tough. But as of the question should war be portrayed in video games? I say yes it should. War is a very interesting topic that attracts people to it. They are also very entertaining games to play. War is also demonstrated really good in the Call of Duty games. Not the online multi-player, but the Campaign. It seems to be pretty on point. It also shows you how easy it is for your character to die, and that's just in a video game. Its even easier in real life to die.   Both Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, and Call of Duty: Black Ops, portray the Afghan war, and the Cold war. As I play I feel as if I am there in the war in that time period. They are really good games and i enjoy them.

Letters From Home.

Back in World War I, I think that the most frustrating thing about only having letters as a way of communication is that most letters were lost or delivered to wrong addresses. Another problem is that the time it would take to send the letters. It would take a couple days for one to receive their letter from home and for their letter to make it home. Opposed to today where one click and the person you are contacting receives your message.

Death Rate Sky Rockets

Some of the reasons that I think that there were so many casualties during World War I was because it seemed like they just ran straight at each other, Judging from the Gallipolli movie trailer. It shows the opposing sides machine guns, mortars, and tanks firing into the masses of soldiers are they charged at each other. Also with the deadly gases such as Mustard Gas and Chlorine Gas, which caused a huge amounts of deaths. But the main cause of all deaths in  World War I was in fact the Diseases, and infections that the soldiers were dealing with. Those are the factors that caused most of the deaths in World War I.

Holy Crap!

During the "Dogfights" I'm pretty sure the pilots were terrified. Judging from the game those planes seem really hard to control, and to fly it while multiple planes and ground turrets are trying to shoot you down. Not to mention the fact that your gunner can shoot a piece of the wings off. They faced a lot of obstacles during these fights. The only thing that's running through their minds is "What if i get hit?", "Will i come out as the winner in this fight?", and "Dear lord, please protect my in this battle". They knew going in to their fight that there is a possibility that they were gonna die. So that is why i feel they were scared. I know I would be.
